Stage Unstage: Photographs 1999-2008Cherine Fahd Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre is proud to present the first ever survey exhibition of Cherine Fahd's work. Fahd exploded on Australia's photomedia scene in the late 1990s with powerful and surreal images that linger long in the imagination. Stage Unstage connects the surrealism of Fahd's early photographs with more recent works that challenge documentary photography conventions by creating strange and subtle twists on scenes from everyday life. As part of her exhibition in the regional gallery, Fahd will occupy two of the billboards situated in Hazelhurst's gardens. Organised by Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre. Curated by Daniel Mudie Cunningham.

The Time: A Season in PakistanGeorge Gittoes George Gittoes records the signs of cultural shift and moments of change, his eye firmly on the ‘big stage' of world events. With a focus on popular culture, he creates images through film, photography, painting and drawing that reflect the interminable tensions between unity and division. The Time shows glimpses of the inner Gittoes contemplating the unique artistic journey undertaken over the last five decades of his life. The exhibition includes many recent and unseen works, and coincides with the publication of a new book that reveals how Gittoes works from his mobile studio. As part of his exhibition in the regional gallery, Gittoes will occupy two of the billboards situated in Hazelhurst's gardens.
Organised by Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre. Curated by Gabrielle Dalton.
